Winter Services Technician

Employees will keep the outside of both private commercial buildings (office buildings, retail centers, etc.) and residential buildings in clean and orderly condition by removing snow and leaves from sidewalks, driveways, yards, or parking areas, using snow shovels, snow blowers, leaf blowers, rakes, ice chippers, or salt spreaders; gather and empty trash and debris by hand or with a trash picker; fall/winter storm cleanup including clearing debris from grounds; and dormant tree/shrub winter pruning. May be asked to drive a crew vehicle to job sites if the worker already possesses a valid, noncommercial driver’s license; however, a driver’s license is not a condition of employment. Workers will not be required to operate a snow plow. Clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools when not in use. Additionally, will perform support duties to assist painters indoors. Clean work areas and equipment. Apply protective coverings, such as masking tape, to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes. Supply or hold tools and materials. Smooth surfaces of articles to be painted, using sanding and buffing tools and equipment.

Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Work hours may include nights and overtime during emergencies and winter storm conditions. Must be able to perform manual, physical labor outside during all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.). Drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers post-accident as required by insurance at no cost to workers.
