Agricultural Laborer – Sod & Ornamental Plant Production

Perform agricultural labor related to nursery, sod, and ornamental plant production. Duties include planting, transplanting, cultivating, watering, irrigating, fertilizing, pruning, trimming, hand weeding, removing weeds and debris from production areas, maintaining nursery stock, sod and ornamental plants, and preparing agricultural products for movement and sale. Workers will load and unload sod, plants, trees, nursery stock, soil and other agricultural/horticultural products associated with the employer's agricultural operations. Workers may move, organize, stage and prepare agricultural products within the farm and nursery production areas. Workers will maintain agricultural production areas and perform general farm labor directly related to the production, cultivation, handling and preparation of agricultural and horticultural commodities. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting.

Must be able to perform physically demanding agricultural work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and perform repetitive movements for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. No agricultural, nursery, sod, landscaping, or related farm work experience required.
