Duties
The worker will perform general farm labor in support of a grain farming operation, including operating tractors and other farm equipment used for tillage, field preparation, and other agricultural equipment operation tasks. Duties include performing routine maintenance and servicing of tractors and farm equipment to keep machinery in safe working order and ready for use in daily farm operations. The worker will haul grain from on-farm storage to the local grain elevator and assist with grain handling and storage, including loading, unloading, and moving grain as part of the farm's post-harvest operations. General farm and shop maintenance is performed as part of the position's regular duties. The worker will also remove snow from farm access roads, yards, and equipment areas as needed to maintain safe access for equipment operation and grain hauling during the winter months. All duties are performed on the farm in direct support of the grain operation. A minimum of three months of prior agricultural experience operating tractors and related farm equipment is required to safely and competently perform the duties described above. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
